Rally Time for the Ariel Atom

Making an Ariel Atom a Bit More Practical

We love being on track just like anybody else. Sometimes though you have to cut loose and have a bit of fun. Road rallies are another way we enjoy our cars and the people around us. The only problem we had with this car was where to put our luggage. Problem solved.....

The trip for us started off in Richmond where the car was stored. Staying up late to make last minute changes to the car including making the final mounting provisions for our extra storage. Obviously no body makes a roof box bolt on kit for an Ariel Atom so some laser cut and machined brackets and we have our solution. Load from the roof box is shared between the main roll hoop and the rear wing supports. Custom machined parts were made so that the load from the box was transferred directly into the rear wing supports so that no load was put on the carbon rear wing itself. A few late night runs down the highway, a few changes to aero and alignment and a couple hours of sleep before we were ready to head to the starting location in Knoxville TN.
